Miguel Castro Leñero was born in Mexico City in 1956. He studied art at the Escuela Nacional de Pintura y Escultura “La Esmeralda” and later joined the Centro de Investigación y Experimentación Plástica of the Instituto Nacional de Bellas Artes.
